This semester’s SGPA — and what it does to your overall CGPA.

Formulas: SGPA = Σ (credits × grade points) ÷ Σ semester credits. New CGPA = (old CGPA × completed credits + SGPA × semester credits) ÷ (completed credits + semester credits). Grade points (10-point): O=10, A+=9, A=8, B+=7, B=6, C=5, P=4, F=0.

Frequently asked questions

How is SGPA calculated?

SGPA = Σ (credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits, using only this semester's subjects — the same credit-weighted formula as GPA.

How does SGPA affect my CGPA?

New CGPA = (old CGPA × old credits + SGPA × this semester's credits) ÷ (old credits + this semester's credits). A semester with more credits pulls your CGPA more.
